Kidz Bop’s Cliff and Matty tour the world, dancing and performing hit songs with the famed group for thousands of screaming young audience members at each tour stop.

And they met right here at the Jersey Shore.

The teens, Matty of Colts Neck and Cliff of Old Bridge, trained at the same dance studio growing up, the storied Icon Dance Complex in Englishtown.

“We’re pretty much best friends and now to be able to go on tour with Cliff is really, really cool because we grew up together and danced together our whole lives and now we’re able to tour the country together,” Matty, 15, said.

Matty (Kidz Bop sticks to first name for the privacy of their young performers) joined the Kidz Bop tour this year, starting off with a bang in London, while Cliff toured with the group last year as well.

Alongside Cliff and Matty, Shila and Aleah round out the Kidz Bop Live Certified BOP Tour lineup. The tour comes on the heels of the release of the new album “Kidz Bop 50.”

The tour hits PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel at 6 p.m. on July 12, with special guest Doggyland.

Matty says he’s loving tour life.

“I think the most obvious (thing I enjoy) would definitely be performing for everyone and inspiring kids. It’s also really fun just to travel on a bus and to be able to go to sleep and wake up in a new city. I think that’s a really cool part about it and I just have a lot of fun touring and performing for kids,” he said.

One of his favorite moments in the shows is the Daddy Dance Off, where they bring up four dads on stage and have them dance battle it out for a prize.

He also loves to perform “Certified BOP.”

“It’s our Kidz Bop original and it’s also the first song of the show, so it’s really cool coming out seeing how excited all the fans are at all the different venues, lots of confetti and exciting things,” Matty said.

He said his show was an unfortgettable experience.

“I got out there for the first number and it almost felt like a dream, but it was just so cool,” he said. “I took a moment to see all the fans and the arena and it was like ‘just wow.’ One of the coolest experiences of my life. And I think I’ll never forget that first feeling,” he said.

Matty says he loves to dance because of how it makes him feel.

“Dance is something I’ve loved ever since I was young and it definitely gives me a different feeling than everything else gives me. The more I dance, the more I fall in love with it. Ever since I started dancing I just had a strong passion and it also gives me a really good chance to express myself with the way I’m feeling,” he said.

He’s looking forward to the PNC show, saying it’s special to know that he used to drive past the venue all the time when he was younger and now gets to return as an artist and perform.

He’s also looking forward to having many friends, family and teachers in the audience.
